ABOUT THE ARTIST

"As a mixed media artist, I enjoy using a wide variety of mediums and techniques... collage, acrylic paint on canvas, watercolour, ink, linocut prints, digital and hand drawn illustrations, as well as photography. I love mixed media collage as it creates space to play with ideas, images and textures in thought-provoking, unexpected ways. Mixed media collage not only opens a world of impossible associations and spontaneity - it also harmoniously links thoughts, styles and even a variety of artistic techniques used throughout history with cohesion and beauty. My art breathes new life into old, discarded - and at times  forgotten - art, applying my own spin and for it to once again be appreciated and admired."

Trisha Oldfield's artistic journey began at a young age in the Canadian Arctic. Under the northern lights and on the land of the midnight sun, she found her passion for art and was taught how to use a paintbrush. Over the years, she moved south, honing her skills in fine art, graphic design, and commercial illustration. She can now be found immersed in the wonders of nature on Vancouver Island, a place that encompasses deep calm and a supportive community. Oldfield has grown into the established artist she is today by pairing the strong artistic foundation she gained while studying in formal institutions with self exploration and the experimentation with a variety of creative mediums.

Oldfield’s work is sought after for its vibrancy, wit, and inspired play. Over the years, her works have been commissioned by government and corporate clients and purchased by private collectors worldwide. Her pieces adorn a wide variety of spaces, from private homes to the walls at Google Headquarters. In 2021, British VOGUE spotlighted Oldfield in an International Artist feature. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Canada and Mexico, and she is currently represented by Galeria de Ida Victoria in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. Oldfield is set apart for her willingness to push her own creative limits, while delving unapologetically into her own self-expression. You are invited to explore her work!
